Job Description:

 


This position is responsible for managing the design, implementation, integration and on-going support of broadcast and digital distribution mission-critical software and automation systems. This position will be primarily based in New York, NY and Englewood Cliffs, NJ.
• Identify and manage software defects and work with vendors to resolve and implement solutions.
• Work with vendors, client user groups, and others to develop system specifications, track and manage system development progress, insure adherence with schedule.
• Ensure all vendor packaged and developed software are well integrated with one another. Manage and shepherd interface challenges with vendors.
• Support and participate in On-air systems integration and on-air rollout.
• Develop and implement test programs (test harness) and procedures to validate software and system deliverables.
• Perform on-going systems maintenance and upgrades with no disruption to on-air signal.
• Provide 24x7 On-Air systems support and daily operations support; some overnight shift-schedule support will be required during on-air rollout and special broadcast events.

Qualifications/Requirements:
• Position requires a BS in Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent work experience, Masters preferred.
• Position requires sound project management skills managing multiple large-scale mission critical projects.
• Experience in broadcast technology and broadcast system integration
• Experience with serial communications protocols, including broadcast-specific protocols
• Experience in software development and application testing experience.
• Knowledge and experience working with database technologies including Oracle or MS-SQL and the use of SQL.
• Knowledge and experience working with the Java programming language.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure such as LAN, WAN networking, SANs, and archive technology.
• Hands-on experience working with workstation and server hardware
• Demonstrated ability in troubleshooting, analysis, and design.
• Effective interpersonal skills
• Ability to work across multiple groups to drive technology requirements
• Self-motivation and resourcefulness required
• Schedule flexibility is needed to meet on-air operations needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
