The Technology Operations Lead is responsible for leading the IT
Infrastructure Operations of the Audit Program technology solutions
in coordination with member firm technology organizations all over
the world, and the Operations of the centralized DA components in
the Global Hosting Centers in the US and UK.
This person reports to the Technology Infrastructure lead, who has
responsibility to design and deliver the applications' technology
architecture and design, security architecture and design, deployment/
implementation, technology support and IT operations globally. They
will work closely with their peers across the Infrastructure team,
as well as the IT leaders in our members firms all over the world.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Define/improve our DA technical operations strategy, approach,
plans, approvals, process and procedure development and delivery
across DTT/OIM hosting centers and member firms deploying DA - whether
servers are hosted centrally, distributed but managed centrally,
or distributed and managed within the member firm
Work closely with the Application workstream and OIM (Global
IT) DTS organization to understand the technology operations requirements
(laptop configuration stability and integrity; Content management,
Engagement management and Multi-Location servers' operations; supporting
applications operations; and security infrastructure operations;
etc.) and devise/improve our approach to partnering with each member
firm team to operate the infrastructure of DA
Build a broad technology operations network at global and
country/member firm deployment levels, leveraging the prevailing
OIM capabilities and processes for global DA applications operations
Provide effective and experienced IT operations process development
and incident assistance to member firm technology organizations
throughout the solution lifecycle
Develop (and/or coordinate) the delivery of technology operations
documentation, conferences and training sessions, progress/issues/risk
tracking, IT operations teams' communications, and operations leader
communications and status reporting in collaboration with the DA
Deployment team
Ensure effective integration and communication of all infrastructure
operations aspects of the program - across the member firms and
our global hosting centers
Provides IT infrastructure operations (e.g. via Global Hosting
Centers for centralized devices, and operations escalation point
for distributed devices) for the Deloitte Audit applications utilizing
existing processes where possible
Acts as primary DA infrastructure escalation point to member
firm IT operations leads for Deloitte Audit applications
Provides and maintains capacity and capability to ensure
DA technology operations function is responsive in a environment
of change, and sometimes unpredictable peak demand
Establish appropriate SLOs/SLAs with key stakeholders in
the member firm IT organizations, enabling cost effective and business
responsive DA applications availability, stability and integrity
Establish appropriate OLAs with key services partners and
organizations (e.g. Service Desk, GNOC, etc.) to ensure predictable
and reliable participation in end to end IT service delivery
Define/improve/utilize fully mature capabilities, tools and
performance support/documentation for key operations processes including
Release, Configuration, Change, Capacity, Continuity and Availability
Managements in line with business requirements and funding capability
Work with the Operations team to monitor issues before they
affect the user or the member firms' infrastructure
Mandatory:
- Excellent project management and verbal and written communication
skills
- Demonstrable success in establishing technology operations processes,
teams, tools and performance metric tracking mechanisms for mission
critical IT systems across a multi-national/international enterprise
- Experience operating Document Management Systems, Windows 2003
server, IIS, SQL Server 2000, .NET 3.5 custom developed fat client
business solutions, Vista/MS Office 2007 laptops in a multi-national/international
enterprise where striking the right balance between accommodating
country/division environment differences in capabilities or preference,
and maintaining overall system consistency, stability and integrity
are vital to business success
- Experience in at least three of the following IT disciplines
- 3 tier application architecture/design/development, technical
support, IT security, datacenter operations, client/laptop application
deployment, laptop application and configuration operations - in
a multi-national/international enterprise
- Significant experience successfully leading highly diverse virtual
teams across the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific to develop into
high performing teams according to plan
- Demonstrated capability to effectively team with all functional
dimensions (architecture/design, application and infrastructure
development, deployment, IT security, support, etc.) of an IT solution
delivery team
- IT organization expatriate/overseas experience or team leadership
experience outside the US a significant plus
- 7+ years of experience in managing an IT operations function
for large-scale enterprise applications and environments
- Strong operations expertise utilizing industry-recognized frameworks
(i.e., Microsoft Operations Framework or equivalent)
- Experience in managing a 24 x 7 environment due to the global
nature of the solutions
Desirable:
- Understanding of, and experience with, Project Server 2007 in
the context of coordinating the work of highly dispersed project
teams
Education: Bachelor's Degree is a must; Master's degree preferred
